CEPA EXPO and EBAA Regional Forum 2015
CEPA EXPO and EBAA Regional Forum 2015 was the most successful and influential conference since the foundation of CEPA EXPO. It was held on 14th and 15th October in the beautiful renaissance Ball Game Pavilion at Prague Castle. CEPA EXPO and EBAA Regional Forum 2015 was attended by 175 delegates from 23 countries. Most of the companies were represented by top managers.
CEPA EXPO and EBAA put together an exciting programme for the 2015 Regional Forum. The programme included panel discussions on key business aviation topics, a variety of presentations and industry outlooks were presented by leading international analysts. Some of the highlights were: Forecasts for Business Aviation in Central and Eastern Europe (Thomas Fissellier, Bombardier), Global Perspective and Challenges Facing Business Aviation (Ed Bolen, NBAA), Solutions to the Capacity Gridlock Will Come from the Sky (Carlo Des Dorides, GSA).
CEPA EXPO and EBAA Regional Forum 2015 clearly highlighted the growing importance of the Central and Eastern European aviation market. As confirmed by the following statement: “Central Europe is an important market for us. Business aviation in this region is incredibly buoyant and looking ahead, we are very excited about how this market will continue to grow and how, with our broad product offerings, we can help more businesses and consumers enjoy the time-saving advantages of private business aviation.” Harduin Putrich (Textron Aviation, Regional Sales Director for the European Market).
The opportunity to network during the conference enabled delegates to share their work. On the very first evening, there was a welcome reception for the speakers, moderators and panellists, who were the key to the success of CEPA EXPO 2015. The cocktail reception took place at Zlata Praha restaurant at the Intercontinental Hotel. Another networking opportunity was the gala dinner at SaSaZu. CEPA EXPO delegates were treated to an Asian themed night of exotic food and entertainment at the CEPA EXPO evening reception. The reception was kindly sponsored by the insurance company AELIA.
We are glad that CEPA EXPO and EBAA Regional Forum 2015 attracted an increasing number of aviation companies, industry leaders and institutions connected to the aviation industry. CEPA Expo 2015 Brings New Perspectives to BusAv in CEE Region
CEPA Expo & EBAA Regional Forum 2015 came to an end last week after two intensive days of presentations and networking. Delegates and organisers alike agreed that the event was a huge success, reflecting the excitement of a region that is ripe with new optimism for business opportunities. The teaming of CEPA Expo and the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) resulted in a top notch programme that addressed key issues for the business aircraft industry in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) today. In addition, networking opportunities, coupled with Czech hospitality, brought an extra dimension to delegate interaction in an informal and enjoyable atmosphere.
Overall, the outlook for the CEE region is positive based on expected growth from its key economies, according to Bombardier’s CEPA Expo Industry Forecast. Thomas Fissellier, Manager Market Intelligence and Analysis at Bombardier Aerospace said: “We forecast the fleet in the region to double over the next 10 years, adding 125 aircraft deliveries representing $3 Billion in revenues.”
This year’s Expo was an opportunity to further explain the role of Business Aviation as a business tool to local authorities, and to contribute to the logical continuity of new perspectives in a historical context. Other highlights of the programme included presentations by Ed Bolen of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), who offered insight on the global market and its challenges in relation to the region, and Zdeněk Jelínek from the Czech Republic’s Ministry of Transport, who opened up discussion on Czech aviation in Europe and beyond.
The importance of CEPA Expo 2015 was further underlined by patronage from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the
Czech Civil Aviation Dept., and the city of Prague. CEPA Expo Chairman Roger Whyte expressed his thanks to the dignitaries and commented that “Prague is a great location due to its position in central Europe; it also acts as a major attraction when delegates are considering attending.” He went on to say that “CEPA Expo 2015 has surpassed all my expectations and I am very pleased with the incredible amount of positive feedback received.”
Key aircraft manufacturers also presented, making the event representative of a major cross-section of the industry. With over 170 delegates from 21 countries, this year’s CEPA Expo & EBAA Regional Forum 2015 was the most successful so far. CEPA Founder, Dagmar Grossmann, said that she is “delighted with how far CEPA and CEPA Expo have come in the six years since it was founded and the recognition of where it now stands in the business aviation industry.”
Fabio Gamba, EBAA CEO said: “CEPA Expo & EBAA Regional Forum raised the bar this year and I think this was evident to all those who attended. The CEPA-EBAA partnership resulted in the right combination of value points – expert presentations, regional insights, and opportunities for business networking. Our forecast that this would be a ‘not-to-be-missed event’ for 2015 was accurate, and we’re looking forward to the next edition.”
Anticipation grows for CEPA Expo 2015
Anticipation is growing in advance of the CEPA Expo & EBAA Regional Forum 2015. With just under 2 months to go the organisers are looking to build on the success of the 2014 event. This year CEPA Expo has formed a partnership with the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) to create a new and improved Expo, with increased benefits to participants and opportunities to enhance the profile of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) as a key area for development.
The focus of this year’s event is ‘catalysing growth of business aviation in Central and Eastern Europe’, and a portfolio of high-profile speakers will give their expert opinions on the many aspects of the industry and the region. With the now improving situation in Ukraine, the market in Russia and the East is poised to bounce back, in line with the growing industry. This fact alone will ensure that CEPA Expo 2015 will offer new insights into future developments.
Sessions will cover region-specific topics, including state of the industry and forecast for the CEE, factors affecting demand, particularities and barriers in the region, special focus on former-Yugoslavia, as well as the Czech Republic and Prague airport. Participants will also dive into topical discussions industry-wide, ranging from capacity, to new technologies, to safety and standards, amongst others.
CEPA Expo Chairman Roger Whyte advises that „This year’s event will be bigger and better than previous years. The CEPA-EBAA partnership will offer a wider perspective, and greater number of innovations, and quality presentations for delegates. Joining together with EBAA is a great endorsement for CEPA Expo and the region.” He went on to say: “CEPA Expo has developed over the last five years to become the key forum for our region – Central and Eastern Europe. But the Expo offers something to the whole industry, beyond CEE.”
EBAA Chief Executive Officer, Fabio Gamba said: “October’s CEPA Expo and EBAA Regional Forum is definitely an event to highlight on the calendar this year. The speakers are top-notch, and the efforts of the new EBAA-CEPA collaboration have produced a two-day agenda brimming with thought-provoking topics centred on a region with huge growth potential. If the CEE region has baffled outsiders, a lot will be learned at this event; and for local operators, self-reflection is never without benefit.”
CEPA Expo & EBAA Regional Forum 2015 takes place on the 14th & 15th October at Prague Castle, which will provide an impressive backdrop for two days of panel discussions, networking and first class social events. For more information, including the agenda, visit: www.cepaexpo.com

EBAA and CEPA to collaborate on 2015 Conference
The Eur9opean Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and Central European Private Aviation (CEPA) have formed a partnership for the development of business aviation in Central and Eastern Europe by creating the new CEPA EXPO and EBAA Regional Forum.
The CEPA EXPO, which has traditionally been held in Prague annually, is the only event of its kind that seeks to promote the growth of business aviation in the CEE and to build bridges between Eastern and Western Europe. The conference has flourished since its inception in 2010, and the 2014 Expo made history by becoming the first aviation body to hold an event in Prague Castle, attracting a record number of delegates. EBAA will join forces with CEPA to organise this year’s event, which will further increase the benefits to participants and enhance the growing profile of the CEE as a key area for development.
Commenting on the collaboration, EBAA Chief Executive Officer, Fabio Gamba said, “Because of historic and cultural reasons, amongst other things, getting EBAA’s work and visibility across in the CEE is more challenging than in other parts of Europe.
„This, along with the growing importance of the sector in the region, has prompted us to team up with companies that already have a strong presence locally, such as CEPA. We feel it is now time to roll up our sleeves and pull together our respective strengths to turn this highly successful event into a truly not-to-be-missed event for Business Aviation.”
CEPA Chairman, Roger Whyte said, „This co-operation agreement between CEPA and EBAA provides the basis for increasing recognition and advocacy of business aviation in Central and Eastern Europe.
„Over the last five years CEPA EXPO has become a vital forum for addressing the specific issues relating to business aviation in the region it represents. The new name, CEPA EXPO and EBAA Regional Forum, emphasises the greater scope and enhanced content which is being planned. I could not be more excited about what this means for the future growth of our industry in the CEE.“
More details of the Forum, which will again be held in the historic Prague Castle, will be announced shortly and the upcoming European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE2015) in Geneva in May will feature a CEE focused workshop during the show.
